Residents are moving in! In June, we closed on three more homes and have more happy families! These residents were able to work with ACCESS. Through Federal and State grants, partners and donors, ACCESS was able to aid these residents in buying their first brand new home and they chose Oak Ridge. We are beyond grateful that they chose our wonderful community to be a part of and grow with!
People have been displaced since the 2020 Alameda and South Obenchain Fires* that swept through the Rogue Valley. The Alameda Fire destroyed more than 2,600 homes between Ashland, Talent, Phoenix, and Medford and the South Obenchain Fire near Eagle Point and Butte burned another 33 homes and dozens of businesses. ACCESS helps transition fire survivors from living in hotels and other short-term housing to stable, suitable housing options. The Center for Community Resilience (CCR) was created in 2021 to help those who were affected by the fires. ACCESS also offers homeowners education, housing counseling, and down payment aid for potential homebuyers. They also supply food, warmth, and shelter to promote stability for vulnerable populations.
ACCESS is also the only certified HUD Housing Counseling Agency in Jackson County. We are grateful for the aid ACCESS has provided in helping our residents find their forever home in our community!
